Gala Dinner Speakers
Emcee and Keynote Speaker
Simon Fanshawe recently co-wrote a ground breaking report on Diversity and Equality published by the IPPR.
He works with a number of organisations in the private, public, and voluntary sectors as a consultant (www.astar-fanshawe.co.uk) putting the theory into practice. We support companies and organisations to bring about positive change, greater fairness and improved performance and effectiveness in their work by using diversity, inclusion and creatively managing difference.
Simon broadcasts regularly on TV and Radio. And he frequently chairs and speaks at conferences. He was a co-founder of the lesbian and gay equality lobby group Stonewall and is a co-founder of The Kaleidoscope Trust, the only British charity working exclusively on gay human rights worldwide.
He is Chairman of the governing Council of the University of Sussex. He sits on the Boards of The Brighton Festival and Dome and English Touring Theatre. He is a non-exec director of the leading social and environmental Communications Company, Forster.
Simon published The Done Thing in 2005, a study of modern manners and behaviour, with Random House and (of course) is currently writing his first novel.

The Pink Singers
The Pink Singers is Europe’s longest-established lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) choir. It was formed in April 1983 to sing at that year’s Pride march, making the choir 30 years old next year. Its 80 members come from different backgrounds, countries, ethnicities, religions and generations and have varied musical tastes. The repertoire for each season reflects this, ranging from Abba to Handel, Madonna to Gershwin. The Pink Singers perform throughout the UK and Europe as guests of other LGBT choirs, and in support of community and charity events. In the last two years the choir has been to The Hague, Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol and Athens. The choir made its Portuguese debut a fortnight ago at Lisbon Pride.
With the Olympic summer getting underway, the Pink Singers have been inspired to put together a programme of songs with an international flavour, ranging from Bollywood anthems to French hymns, taking in Chinese folk song and American gospel along the way.
